This fascinating documentary explores the similarities between two of Latin music's most popular genres: salsa and reggaeton. Featuring a veritable who's who of Puerto Rican music stars such as Willie Colón, Ismael Miranda, Tego Calderón and Julio Voltio, the film traces the evolution of these two styles to their African roots and highlights the importance of the "clave," a five-note, two-rhythm pattern, which is the backbone of all Afro-Cuban music. All ages. |
